Worden For Vice President

“ I believe it is time we elect our leadership from people that are actively involved in making a living off of the dairy cow. To often there is a disconnect between the needs of dairy organizations and their members as the leaders are no longer actively involved in the operations of a dairy farm and have lost touch with what is going on at the farm level.”

“I believe that my active involvement in the day to day operation of our dairy farm combined with my Holstein industry experience for over 44 years as an active breeder, dairy producer, and association involvement provides me with understanding and compassion for the very serious challenges that every dairy producer now faces and provides me with the solid conviction to lead Holstein Association USA.”

Qualifications
  • Chuck is a man of vision and commitment and actively participates in all committees that he is involved in. He is involved because of a strong passion for the Registered Holstein cow, an understanding of the dairy industry and dedication to the continued genetic advancement of the breed for type, production and success for every breeder of cattle who breeds his herd based on their convictions and goals.
  • At Wormont Holsteins you will find the complete family involved in the dairy operation or the industry. Wayne, 22, recently graduated from Cornell University and Mark, 20, from Morrisville State University, both have returned home to the farm to pursue the family’s dream. After completing her dual degree in Dairy Science & Life Science Communications at the University of Wisconsin, Lindsey, 24, is now Communications Manager for Holstein Association USA and helps out on the farm when time permits. Eric, 17, is finishing his Junior year in High School and finds time to help with many chores after school. They all find satisfaction in the daily operation of the farm and excitement and enjoyment from Registered Holsteins.
  • Chuck brings the experience of dairying in two very diverse dairy regions. The Southwest with large commercial dairies and dry lot farming and New York which supports one of the most active and successful state associations. This gives him valuable insight to the issue facing the Association of how to provide programs and services that meet the needs of both large and small dairies.

I believe that Holstein Association USA has stepped up and made a strong commitment to be a clear voice for all dairyman in both milk price issues and National ID issues. I support these efforts and will be working to move these causes forward.”

Letter from Chuck

Dear Friends,

I write this letter asking for your support in my candidacy for Vice-President of Holstein Association USA. I have previously served seven years on the Holstein USA board, chairing and serving on many committees, and am currently serving as Chairman of the Holstein Foundation board of trustees, which I have been involved with for the past seven years. I have truly enjoyed the challenges that face our Holstein fraternity, and am excited for the opportunities the future holds, which is why I am running for the position of Vice-President.
My first-hand experience with the different aspects of our industry, both large and smaller scale operations, Registered and commercial, is what gives me the insight to the issues facing our Association, including the challenge of providing programs and services that meet the needs of all dairyman around the country, regardless of herd size or individual management goals.
I think the Holstein Association board of directors and staff have stepped up and made a strong commitment to be a clear voice for all dairymen on issues facing our industry today, such as milk pricing, animal health, and national animal identification issues. I support these efforts, and will be working to move these causes forward.
I believe I’ve done a good job of looking at all the issues with a clear vision for the future, without forgetting the need to preserve our great Registered Holstein heritage. I feel that my forward-thinking and open-minded attitude, combined with a lifetime of experience and strong passion for the Holstein cow and our industry make me a qualified candidate. Finally, I understand and accept the time and energy commitment it will take to serve as your Vice-President.

It is important that we stay the course and commit to the future of our members, our Association, and the Registered Holstein breed. I humbly ask for your vote and welcome your questions at any time. Feel free to contact me at (315) 725-1972. I look forward to visiting with you in California!

Sincerely,

Chuck Worden

“Commited to Supporting Our Youth, Genetic Improvement and Adding Value to the Registered Holstein!”
